“What we hope more than anything is that it brings the reality of Jesus into people’s lives. The first worship records that we really loved were that way for us -- they gave us new language for loving Jesus, ways to talk to God we didn’t have before. We hope people catch a glimpse of the love and peace and belonging that can only be found in God.” - Jess & Taylor

About Mission House

Mission House is the creative worship duo of Taylor Leonhardt and Jess Ray.

Their debut self-titled EP and its songs were born from weekly community gatherings centered around a simple vision: share a meal and worship together. “We would sing these songs on Mondays nights and people would be singing them at the top of their lungs, even with no lyrics projected anywhere,” shares Taylor.

This community, now known as Feast & Feast, has grown from 10 friends meeting in a living room to 100+ young people representing over 40 churches in Raleigh, NC. “It’s just wild that God gave me some of the vision for it long before it developed,” shares Jess. “The idea was just to be a blessing, to plant ourselves somewhere and be something that brings life and resources and goodness to the area around us.”

Wanting to give their community something to sing to, praise to, and carry with them throughout the week, the duo gathered 30-plus friends of their Feast family in Ray’s living room to record 7-songs in a live worship experience. “We love that each person playing and singing on the record is a friend of ours and someone we live life with. As we worked on getting the EP ready to share, it became apparent to us that maybe something bigger was going on. Maybe these Mission House songs weren’t just for our friends in Raleigh but for people and gatherings and churches all over who have the same heart we do.”

Both Taylor and Jess agree, Mission House’s earthy and organic worship is a direct extension of that goodness, serving up life-giving resources in the form of songs.

“What we hope more than anything is that these songs bring the reality of Jesus into people’s lives. We hope people find peace and joy in God. The first worship records that we really loved were that way for us -- they gave us new language for loving Jesus, ways to talk to God we didn’t have before. We hope people catch a glimpse of the love and peace and belonging that can only be found in Him.”
