The journey so far
It’s thirty years since Martin wrote Lord You Have My Heart – a song that offered fresh air to the lungs of the church. For the last three decades Martin Smith has continued to write songs that bring life where it is needed most; to the head and heart of worshippers all over the world.
Between 1994 and 2009, as the frontman and principle songwriter for Delirious - the Dove Award wining, Grammy nominated, RIAA Certified Gold Selling game changing Christian band - Martin toured everywhere, from Peru to Poland, Uganda to the USA, China to the Czech Republic. From churches to cathedrals, sweaty-stained gig venues to mainstream music festivals, Delirious played them all, supporting Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams in the process and playing in their own right everywhere from Glastonbury, Wembley Stadium to the Roxy, LA.
Now
Now as lead singer of Army Of Bones and a solo worship leader, writer and producer, Martin has been involved with almost every aspect of the new worship movement. From Did You Feel The Mountains Tremble? to Waiting Here For You, from I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever to HistoryMaker, Martin’s songs have connected with generations of worshippers.
Married to Anna, father to six children and part of the Bright City worship team at St. Peters in Brighton, England, Martin continues to write, tour and lead worship.
