Isn't He beautiful
Isn't He beautiful
Isn't He beautiful
Isn't He, isn't He, isn't He
Isn't He, isn't He, isn't He

See the fire of love in His eyes
Feel the passion of the One who died
For the lost and the lonely and the weak
See the marks in his hands and feet
Feel the heart of the broken King
Hear Him tenderly whisper "Come to Me"

Isn't He beautiful
Isn't He beautiful
Isn't He beautiful
Isn't He, isn't He, isn't He
Isn't He, isn't He, isn't He

The story behind the song

My friend, Josh, and I were meeting once a week or so to hang out, eat cheesesteaks, talk about life, sing and worship together.

One afternoon we were in my living room singing an older song of mine called Jesus You're Beautiful. As the song was ending, there was this familiar feeling like there was more to say. As we lingered, and continued to sing, the words to this song started to take shape.

My favorite worship songs are the ones like this one—the songs that come out of an authentic, sweet moment in the spirit—songs that almost seem to write themselves.

I'd love to know if you connect with the song and find a way to incorporate it into your worship repertoire.

The recording on this page was made during the SongShare session at the WAW event in Minneapolis. My wife Lori, daughter Greyley, and my friend Mark Alan sang with me.
