Day 6 - You Are God
Reflect
There’s a work You’ve started long before me
Your kingdom will endure beyond my time
You welcome me to join You in Your story
I’m Yours, I’m Yours
(Lyrics from You Are God)
Be Still
Breathe in slowly. What is the Lord inviting you to pay attention to at this moment?
Meditate
Read the Scripture several times. What word or phrase stands out to you? Spend some time meditating on it. What might the Lord be inviting you to notice or do with this word or phrase?
Isaiah 55:8-11
For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
and your ways are not my ways,” says Yahweh.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways,
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
For as the rain comes down and the snow from the sky,
and doesn’t return there, but waters the earth,
and makes it grow and bud,
and gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater;
so is my word that goes out of my mouth:
it will not return to me void,
but it will accomplish that which I please
Ponder
Spend some time journaling your answers (or making a voice memo) to the following questions.
Pay attention to your thoughts today. What themes do you notice? In what ways could you center your thoughts on God throughout the day?
Ask the Lord for an image, metaphor, or word that He wants you to hold onto in this season of your life.
Where do you feel the pressure to place yourself in the role of God today? Is there anyone you are attempting to control or manipulate to have your own way?
What do you need in order to surrender your will to the Lord today?
