Is Our Version of Good News Really What People Need to Hear?

Craig Borlase

What we think about the Good News will affect the way we live our lives. If the Christian Good News is only about getting a ticket to heaven, then there is less chance we will be concerned about how we behave on earth. But if our understanding of the Good News recognizes the importance of living as Jesus lived while on earth, then we have our work cut out.

‘The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.’

Luke 4:18-19

How much of what Jesus says is still relevant for us today?

Are we on the same mission?

Are His priorities supposed to be ours too?

If so, how will our actions over the next 24 hours prove it?
