Oh the testimony we have in Jesus! We have been ransomed, purchased and redeemed from the curse and punishment of our sins. What once was hanging over us as a death sentence has been reversed and now His LOVE is written over our hearts in Christ Jesus.
At one time, we were enemies of God, living out of our own desires and willpower. But in Christ, we have become friends of God, His own family, His children. We have been born again. Utterly changed by the mercy of Jesus. Every day we get the amazing opportunity to grow in this hope we have.
Can you remember that day? The time? The place? When you gave it all to Him and surrendered your life. That was the day that everything changed and your name was written in the Lamb's Book of life. Your name is known in heaven and known by the King of Kings. "I Got Saved" is a song of remembrance and a song of declaration-that the saints of God would open their mouths and begin to sing out the wonders of what He has done for them. It's a testimony that can never be taken away from a child of God.
Revelation 12:11 tells us that the saints overcame the enemy by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony. They did not love their own lives as to shrink away from their faith in Christ.
Take courage today wherever you are in your walk with Jesus and remember what He has done for you and in you. He took all of your sin and shame and carried it up to Calvary where He paid the full penalty and displayed His passion and love. You are His beloved and He desires to walk with you every day.
I love the bridge of this song. It states, "The love of God gave me His pardon, the love of God won't let me stay the same, the love of God calls me up higher, His will is strong and that's why I got saved." Remember today that God has not given up on you and He is calling you up higher to know Him more.
