I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:12-13
Do you think it was easy for Paul to learn to be “content whatever the circumstances”?
No, me neither.
It’s not a natural fit for us. We are survivors, scrappers, the kind of beings who are hard wired to look out for ourselves.
But we are also children of a loving, caring God.
Sometimes those two truths result in a bit of friction.
Why not ask for the Holy Spirit to teach you the sort of contentment which Paul had?
Do you really think that God would say ‘no’?
