"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it is about learning to dance in the rain." (Vivian Greene)
I love that!
All of us face storms in life. It is much easier to ask God to take them away as soon as we see one coming, rather than ask Him to walk us through it. We don’t like it when our faith is tested. Often, our faith can get shaken when we have to go through hard times in life.
Two years ago I faced a storm of life when my dad passed away after months of being in a coma. We prayed for healing. We prayed for a miracle. His healing came when he went to be with the Lord. It was a tough thing for my family and I to go through.
Sometimes the other side of the storm isn't what we hoped it would be, but we know we can trust God and put our hope in Him.
Philippians 4:4 says, “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” It doesn’t say rejoice only when things go your way! It doesn’t say rejoice only when you get that big raise at work or only when life seems perfect! It says, rejoice ALWAYS!
Even in the storms of life, as worshipers of God, we can rejoice and dance in the rain, in the midst of the storm! We rejoice not because our circumstances are perfect! We rejoice because we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28).
We can not only dance in the midst of the rain, but we can WORSHIP in the midst of the rain! We worship Him, who is worthy of all glory, honor, and praise, despite our circumstances!
If you're a worship leader or on the worship team, you have the opportunity to exemplify that in your own life, both on and off stage. You get to show people how to worship God and dance in the rain, even when you are going through a storm. What a privilege!
The song "Dance Again" is a great reminder that no matter what we are going through, we can praise Him because He is in control...
