The other morning my (soon-to-be) 5 year old daughter came up to me shortly after I woke up and gave me a big hug and with a big smile and excitement said, “I love you so much! I love you so much! I love you so much!” It was totally unexpected.
Even though I was barely awake, it immediately put a smile on my face! Needless to say, that simple act from my daughter made my day! It melted my heart and filled me with joy.
Telling my kids “I love you” and having them say it back is one thing. There’s something very special about them saying it first, on their own.
Sometimes all your Heavenly Father wants to hear from you is “I love You so much! I love You so much! I love You so much!” He loves hearing his kids say “I love you” on their own, not because someone told them to say it, not because something exciting happened, but just simply and verbally expressing our love to Him out of the overflow of our hearts.
Take time today to tell your Heavenly Dad: “I love You so much! I love You so much! I love You so much!” It will make His day!
